Surf Ghana

In a small fishing village on Ghana’s coast, I spent time with the young surfers of Busua. Surfing offers the boys something many of them haven’t had before, a daily routines, a goal, a reason to show up. It teaches patience and courage, but also joy. Some dream of going pro, others simply find peace in the water. And that alone matters.
There’s something deeply hopeful about this project. The ocean, once feared by many, becomes familiar. A place of connection, not threat. A place of hope and growth. What Surf Ghana does goes far beyond sport. It’s visibility. It’s trust. It’s letting young people be seen: for their strength and for their passion.
