Vanessa is a visual storyteller and photographer working on long term, research based projects, photographing people within the structures that shape them.

Her work combines observation, artistic direction and a strong sense for design and print, often expressed through an aesthetic, cinematic visual language shaped by travel, perspective and human connection.

What do we see, when we look beyond the obvious?

  • I document programs and initiatives with empathy and a sensitive eye. I take a quiet, observational approach, letting people be themselves. My presence is open and respectful, capturing intimate, emotional moments that communicate the reality of daily life to outsiders.

  • I craft stories with precision and clarity. As a trained communication designer and experienced creative director, I know how to structure narratives that are engaging, efficient, and high-quality. I shape content for magazines, online platforms, and journalistic features, turning observations into clear, compelling stories.

  • Print and long-term series are my creative passion. Here, I develop images that go deeper, deliver a message, and reach the right audience. My work is intentional, concept-driven, and designed to communicate meaningfully.

What once started as a volunteer experience shaped my creative output as a photographer. I connected deeply with the rural experience there, observed, and over the course of three months, built a new way of seeing things. It shaped my perspective and values. Now I follow projects that align with that mindset and contribute to changing the narrative.
